An important aspect of Carter Thought Lab is the services our personnel can provide for scholars who are engaged in educational research or other social science research. In particular, support and consultation is available for qualitative research projects (or the qualitative dimensions of those projects utilizing mixed methods) at all stages of development in the following areas:

Study Design & Planning

  • Refining study objectives and research questions
  • Developing data collection methods and instruments
  • Designing interview and focus group protocols aligned with the proposal

Data Collection Support

  • Training interviewers and focus group moderators
  • Supporting ethical and inclusive qualitative data collection

Data Management & Analysis

  • Managing and preparing qualitative data for analysis
  • Transcription support for interviews and focus groups
  • Assisting with coding, analysis, and interpretation

Reporting & Funding

  • Preparing reports and research summaries
  • Supporting grant proposals involving qualitative research
